These walking shoes were comfy right out of the box. I ordered 8.5W and they fit perfectly with room to wear heavier socks when necessary. I feel very stable while walking in these shoes. I'm glad that I purchased two pairs in different colors at a time. They should be good for at least a year or two before I'll need to replace them.
